Hello everybody =) !!
My name (or my blog name) is brave0angel. I am starting a blog about my life, describing how I get closer to (or sometimes go farther from) my goal of going to America. I am currently a graduate student at University of Tsukuba in Japan, and I am hoping to get into a PhD program in the U.S. with a fellowship. I am a Japanese 24 year old female graduate student, who has a unique life background from everybody else. I am what people call, “halfy” (a person who was immersed in two different cultures and likes and respect both).
I was born and grew up in Japan until I was 13 years old. After I finished 7th grade, I moved to Michigan with my family because of my father’s job. I started my life in a brand new environment in a different language, not knowing what the hell people were saying to me, little lost, but I survived my grade school years with much help of grateful teachers and nicest friends. Then, just a little before my HS graduation, my parents went back to Japan because my father’s job, again. But I stayed with a host family and continued my studies in MI. I went to Michigan State University and obtained a degree in Linguistics. There, I met many interesting people, and I also made good friends. There, I met my love as well.

After graduating MSU, I came back to Japan for graduate school. The reason why I came back to Japan is to test my ability to live in Japan as a Japanese person. I was a little hesitant about jumping into Japanese culture and society because I’ve always thought that Americanized me will never fit in. But now I got accepted to a prestigious Japanese graduate school (University of Tsukuba) and involved in much research here, I could prove myself wrong. Now that I defeated my insecurity as a Japanese person, I thought my life goal over…. I want to get a PhD in America. With my long-distance love supporting me at all times, I can’t think of any other options now. This is my second and last year for my MA program, so I don’t have much time until it comes into reality (or not).
In writing this blog, I will try to post entries periodically. So please keep coming back for updates =D I also appreciate any comments or advice you leave under each entry !! Thanks for reading!!

Hi brave0angel, thanks for your nice comment at my blog. Yeah, the Ninomiya House is grand. And it’s even near enough to university. My next entry will be about the uni itself, so stay tuned and check whether the pictures reflect your image of the campus, too.
Good luck with your America PhD plans! Oh, and I subscribed to your RSS feed, so keep up posting. ^^
Have a nice Golden Week,
Kai
